I have a feeling that I should justify myself, seeing that I am not that fond of Philippine cinema (yeah where did the patriotism go?), so here they are:
1. The theme song has been ringing in my head over the past two weeks (I am a Kapuso due to my mom’s influence)
2. Dingdong-Karylle tandem are only one of the few…and I mean few…love teams that I can tolerate in the big screen (another was Rico Yan and Claudine Barretto…well he died so there goes…)
3. My mom gave me money specifically intended to watch a movie while I wait for her.
4. I want to see if it is as artistic as I though it would be (here is where the Film class kicks in)
5. I want to prove my hypotheses that Karylle is the descendant of Iza Calzado (of course I was right in the end…I’ve seen enough past-present-future romantic themes in movies even in Korean and Chinese)
6. I want to support the entertainment industry, consequently, the Philippine economy (they give less than 1% to GDP, I think, how sad is that?)
7. Ice Age 2 shows at a later time.
I like the movie, of course there are the sappy/mushy parts where they have this “moment” then the theme song kicks in…and I can’t help but cringe or snicker…but I like the “aminan” part of Dingdong and Karylle…the Gloria Romero with Dingdong scene however was too convincing that I was disturbed and laughing at the same time (there are a bunch of guys in front of me so the Gloria Romero scene was definitely funny). Now I digress…
I think I consider myself adventurous enough for a 21 year old…though it depends on what “adventure” really means…there are things that I call “little adventures” just like today, when I decided to watch a local romantic movie in big screen, alone, and not under duress (Edell and I watched a Hero-Sandara movie, that was 50% under duress I think, haha)…I like to have these mini-adventures…there was a time that I walked from ABS-CBN to EDSA at 12nn (my mom dropped me off so technically I didn’t know the way, I was planning to take a tricycle but then I decided that I want to test my sense of direction), crashed a school prom (wearing casual clothes, although we didn’t know that it was a prom, hehe), sing “I have confidence” (song from The Sound of Music) with matching actions (even the action with the fountain) when I was in grade school in the school grounds, walking in my friend’s subdivision (sa main road pa) with only my bathing suit on under a signal no.2 storm (well I we swam in the clubhouse’s pool then a storm hit, so why do we need to change our clothes when it’s going to get wet anyway?), dancing Cameron Diaz’s steps in Charlie’s Angels in the women’s bathroom…yeah, highlights of my life (other mini-adventures would be revealing too much)…I think one of my friend’s (anonymous ‘to) little adventure would be peeing at the back of his/her van (shempre may “lalagyan”) because he/she cannot hold it in while his/her whole barkada was in the same van in the middle of traffic…
So basically it’s good to have these little adventures once in a while…we cannot afford to always have big adventures (jumping of an airplane, walking off a plank with sharks underneath, dressing in drag…hmmm…), and it’s one of the ways that we can spice up our life, so yeah, it’s nice to do something out of the ordinary even though it’s a normal event of life (like going to school with mismatched socks for a day perhaps) just to have something to reminisce on in the future…

I am also feeling kiddy today so I definitely went out this day sporting my “kiddy” getup (my clothes for the day mainly reflects my mood or what I want to feel for that day)…I spent little time possible at school (some would be taken aback if they saw me) then went straight to the mall to buy some gifts, run some errands, etc., bought another romance novel at Booksale, spent my time reading it at McDonald’s El Pueblo and finished reading it 10 mins after getting home (hay…panandaliang aliw talaga, haha)…speaking of McDo…what’s with it today? The people are unusually bibbo…I even turned my shuffle on while I was reading my novel and sipping my milkshake in order to ward them off…then suddenly this kid (McDo usually hires some kids during the summer to spread some “cheer”) approached me and gave me a balloon!!! Weee, talk about capping off my kiddy day…hay yeah, I definitely didn’t look like a 21 year old (22 yr old in 2 months!) today…

Let me just say that I was (proudly) part of three of the "mini adventures" listed there. Haha!
milkshake and a balloon! kiddy nga! although, a kid wouldn't read a romance novel, and find "panandaliang aliw" with it. lolz. glad you had a blast! enjoy the rest of your freedom (alam ko malapit ka na magwork hehe)
haha, oo nga no, there's nothing kiddie about THAT, oh well, yeah maturity has its levels...
let's continue on making those mini adventures...can't lose time ;)
