hopefully my last bout of fangirling

Again I just have to post about this…imagine my frustration when I just found out that Wu Chun is going to Manila and then finding out a few hours later that he is already here! Argh, this is what I get for not frequenting the local TV channels…

He is one of my (well, our, including Grace and Ica) Taiwanese hot guys…love him when he did Hana Kimi (I always get angry when he has a romantic scene with Ella) and moreso when he did Romantic Princess… I was fairly obsessed with him two years ago and he helped me keep sane during my thesis. Granted I’m still not impressed with his acting style but this is where the shallowness comes…he’s just plain HOT. Yun lang.

So frustrating that I only get to watch him and Calvin in the ABS-CBN shows…imagine my utter elation when they can’t think of any celebrity in the network that they think is pretty, haha. Ica is also still in China so we don’t have the resources to do what we did when Kwon Sang Woo went here: stalk.

I don’t think I’ll be as aggressive as other fangirls, but I won’t promise that I won’t scream when I saw him…hay…

Have to be more alert now…if Mike He slips through my fingers I will hit myself on the head…

as if we can't get enough of this...

just received word that *gasp* there will be another Hana Yori Dango in the works in KOREAN! wahaha. So, it seems that we're having a cycle here:

superbly crafted Japanese manga --> Taiwanese drama version --> Japanese drama version --> Korean drama version

and no one would be happier with this setup than me, a lowly person who maintains sanity through watching these series. I'm excited on the Korean's take on the highly successful manga. And they DO make superb dramas (if you haven't noticed). I hope they have good cast, oh hell, i hope they cast a DESERVING person for Hanazawa Rui (Hua Ze Lei in Meteor Garden) or else I'll be fronting the picket lines.

so i'm guessing having a Korean version of Hana Kimi would not be far-fetched?

Why I Love Summer (abroad)

...it's because they produce a great line-up of TV series! And this summer (which was fortunate for me since this is the post graduation/unemployment days) is great since I have one series per country and all of them performed even better than expected. So here's my tribute:

JAPAN: Hanazakari no Kimitachi e
Whoo! The first gender-bending drama in this line-up. I'm so happy the moment I received the news since I already saw the Taiwanese version and I'm dying to see how JP would interpret it (since the drama is based on a JP manga). This series cracked me up! Easy humor almost all the time, and really reels you in during those dramatic moments. I won't go through the TW vs. JP versions here (maybe next time) but I preferred the latter, hehe (although Wu Chun is still HOT!). I love the way they deviated from the plot of the manga (although at first I was irritated); it left me at the edge of my seat after each episode. I also love the fact that the school boys have substantial screen time, it really gets you in the "brotherly love" zone (although this sort of lessened the SanoxMizuki scenes, bummer. and sometimes there's too much brotherly love, ahem, yaoi territory...but weirdly enough I wasn't disgusted, haha). The ending was decent compared to other JP series. Given that, this is one of my top Jap series to date.

KOREA: The 1st Shop of the Cofee Prince
I'll never look at coffee the same way again! I even went through a very hard CP withdrawal phase since I got too attached to all the coffee princes! This is the other gender-bending drama in my line-up. Yoon Eun Hye came a long way from Goong, and Gong Yoo was SUPERB! No one can tackle on Han Gyul's character except him! Sobrang perfect dream guy (Han Gyul and Kang Tae Bong are now my favorite male characters!) I cried so much in this series and I'm really tempted to go to Korea just to have coffee in that lovely coffee shop of theirs. Great script with a lot of depth. I swear, if all gay couples started like them (although in the drama they're not really gay) I could just encourage them! Bwahahahah. Really exceeded my expectations! I know I spoke too soon with my Top 5 Koreanovelas list, now this drama is definitely in my top 5. (Btw, there's a kababayan who made a mv of this using Parokya ni Edgar's This Guy's in Love with You Pare, freaking hilarious!)

TAIWAN: Why Why Love
And finally, I reserved the most serious (but not too serious) of them all...highly anticipated series...of course it's Mike He in all his glory! All Devil Beside You fans should watch this one, coz I think this is better! Although I'm starting to get tired of Cinderella stories lately, but what the hell, I'm making an exception with this idol drama. I get goosebumps everytime there's a mushy scene in this series, and I cried...no...bawled...towards the end, but fortunately it ended nicely. Can't deny that Rainie and Mike has chemistry. Love the soundtrack, love Mike He. Oh and also Kingone...I hope he gets a starring role soon. Huhu, I really love the Rainie-Mike combo, it's actually hard to get nice pairings in Taiwanese series, dunno why (or maybe because I want every lead guy for myself? haha)

There, it's a lot shorter than I thought but anyway, I have too many opinions for each series I can't organize them into one decent entry. I'm sorry for all those who don't watch in the first place but decided to read this entry since I didn't explain even what every series is about (but don't hesitate to ask!). Thanks to the subbers (and Ica!!! timer for Why why love! Ibang level na 'to! Salamat sa pagpuslit ng subs for me, bwahhahaha) for helping poor souls like me.

Currently Watching: Romantic Princess (Taiwan) and Get Karl! Oh Soo Jung (Korea)

busy week...

super busy but fun week...been enjoying myself until today (im watching Mars in time for Zaizai my luv's birthday)...anyway, recap:

Tuesday - went to school to finish Braving CAS requirements...then had an anime marathon from 10 to 5:30! Hinihintay na nga ata kami ng mga janitors sa labas ng classroom hehe...oh well, im not bothered since may kasama kaming mga teachers...sugoi!
a. Trinity Blood (ep1-4) - damn, this anime kicks a$$! super astig when Nightroad turns into Crushnik mode...malupit ang weapon niya! alam mong mamamatay ka pag nakita mo siya...interesting concept din...a vampire made to drink the blood of other vampires...lupet din ng "heart-wrenching" moment when the vampire opponent takes out his heart and crushes it...! lupet talaga. buti na lang meron din nito sa wowow so im updated hehe
b. Eyeshield 21 (ep1) - ang fun ng mga characters...it's an sports anime about football...first time lang ako nakakita nito...
c. Tsubasa Chronicles (ep. 5-8) - crossover of clamp characters...shet ang astig ni Syaoran dito...CCS fan kasi ako pero makikita mo talagang iba ang psychology ni Sakura and Syaoran sa TC kaya alam mong impossibleng CCS sha...kinda na-bore ung mga guys since ang mushy daw...still kilig naman kami..galeng din na instead of the usual rock song background everytime may labanan, mala-opera ang background music! iba ang feeling...
d. Howl's Moving Castle - i tell you, the trailer shown in AXN is not appealing, but the movie is just the opposite...nagiging Miyazaki fan na ata ako...not to mention na ang gwapo ni Howl! pati ung demon fire nakakatawa...great movie, mahaba (as usual, Miyazaki film nga eh), pero worth it...

i was expecting to have a headache since ang tagal naming nanood pero hindi nangyari...sobrang aliw kasi....

Wednesday - still Braving CAS requirements...super busy, my mom and i also dropped by podium to look for a fone (free kasi sa SMART pag line ka)...pero di pa daw pala kami pwede kumuha ng fone right now...short-lived excitement

Thursday and Friday - Braving CAS itself..sobrang fun, i think the project was a success, since the girls were very responsive...galeng ng talk ni Roxy, niloloko ko na kukunin ko na lahat ng study strategies niya hehe

also went out wid Ice, Ten, and Anna yesterday, watched Madagascar (been humming "i like to move it..." all day), then chika...ang daming nangyayari sa mga buhay ng iba...yun lang

just watched this morning Honey and Clover ep1-4 (arigatou Arnold-san!)...as what Arnold-san said, parang Kare Kano (one of my fave animes) pero college version...from the first episodes, parang ganun nga, almost same setting pero iba na ung issues na target nila...

planning to finish Mars soon...then tomorrow may swimming kami, hehe....then enrollment on Monday (btw, i dunno the status of my scholarship yet...sana wala akong problema come Monday)

weird day + wish list

Yesterday was a very weird day…basically because the clock in my parents bedroom (where I stayed the whole day yesterday watching TV) has dying batteries, which I didn’t know. Therefore, when I woke up and asked for breakfast, it was almost lunchtime. That’s why when I went to CETV to watch Mars, the program was almost done. That’s why when I watched American Idol I thought it was an early show since it was 2:30pm in the clock. That’s why I put off taking a bath for a long time even though I felt that most of the day has gone by. By the time I took a bath (accdg to the clock it was only 3:30) I looked at my cellphone and it’s already 5pm! So that’s why I felt so gross…haha. Anyway, yesterday was a very unproductive day since I had no sense of time so all the things that I planned to do is way out of schedule. Btw, here’s one of the things I’ve been waiting to feature here:
Wish List / Things I Want to Do Before I Die:

1. Scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef
2. Go cherry blossom viewing (o-hanami) during the cherry blossom season in Japan.
3. Meet Oprah
4. Meet Nelson Mandella
5. Have dinner with Johnny Depp
6. Own a Scottish castle (preferrably wid no ghosts)
7. A boat ride in the Amazon river
8. Swim under Angel Falls
9. Ride a motorcycle by myself
10. Dub an anime or an imported telenovela
11. Watch Les Miserables and Cats in Broadway.
12. Jog in Central Park
13. Join the Amazing Race
14. Get all the tulips i can get in Holland.
15. Stroll anywhere in New Zealand.
16. Wear the crown jewels (even for 5 seconds)
17. See the setting of Anne of Green Gables (Prince Edward Island)
18. Perform in a rock concert, preferrably wid L'arc en ciel or Ricard Samborra (Bon Jovi guitarist, tapos kakanta kami ng Livin on a prayer hehe)
19. Tour Ireland and Scotland
20. Sing with Clay Aiken
21. Meet Won Bin and Vic Zhou
22. Ride a horse ala Marlboro commercial
23. Own a deserted beach cove
24. Use different colored contact lenses (although I don't need them) every week.
25. Own a Siberian husky

Looking at this list, I know that some could possibly come true while some absolute can’t (like owning a Siberian husky…that means if I want to live here I must delegate a non-stop aircon room for the dog…). And that I have to be rich…or just plain lucky…
