Top Five Koreanovelas (Part 3 of 5)

Title: Lovers in Paris
Park Shin Yang as – Han Ki Joo (PSY)
Kim Jeung Eun as Kang Tae Young (KJE)
Lee Dong Gun as Yoon Soo Hyuk (LDG)

Synopsis: (from DramaWiki)
This romantic drama is set in the romantic city of Paris, France. A weird twist of fate connects three people from completely different worlds to one place where they begin to develop feelings towards each other. At first none of them realize what they are getting themselves into, but as they get to know each other more and more their feelings toward each other begin to deepen...

This drama begins when Tae Young decides to go to Paris to work on writing a scenario that would truly capture the essence of this romantic and beautiful city of Paris. There she meets Ki Joo while working at a friend's stall and Soo Hyuk when her bicycle breaks down. Ki Joo asks her to act as his fiance so he could get the interest of a client he was meeting in Paris. While at a party hosted by this client something goes wrong to reveal the truth about their relationship. There they decide to call the whole thing quits and break up. They both go to Korea where fate pulls them back together.

Tae Young, Ki Joo and Soo Hyuk begin to develop friendships with Tae Young and end up feeling more feelings towards her than they initially thought. The thing about both of them having feelings towards one girl was that Ki Joo is Soo Hyuk's uncle and they had grown up like best friends since they were only about 7 years apart. Their feelings towards her slowly begin to be revealed causing heartache for all the people around them.

How I Came to Watch the Series: ABS-CBN for the first few episodes, and then when I realized that ABS hit a gold mine with this one, nag-burn na ako sa friends ko, hehe.

What I Like About the Series: The pacing of the series was well done. Never got bored. PSY and KJE were so believable!!! PSY galeng talaga…carry niya role niya. LDG was also great in this series…loved his transformation, btw, hahaha, naobvious ang pagka-eye candy niya. The actors are really commendable, as in iyak-tawa ako all throughout the series. OST as usual is great, lots of songs that can make you go depressed…fave song is Nuh Ha Na Man by Jo Sung Mo.

What I Don’t Like About It: The ending! Honestly, the series was already great until woah, a very confusing ending…my friends and I are still debating on what it means until now. I also observed that most Korean series are fond of ending it with time passing for a long time—as in palaging “after X years” saka sila magkikita ulit. What’s up with that? (Okay, just realized that this happened to EVERY series in my top 5! Haha) May pagka-Cinderella din sobra yung series pero tolerable naman for me.

Favorite Moment: I’ll cite three…sorry daming nice scenes
First is when they did an ordinary date…PSY, grabe, super nakakatawa when he demonstrated how he will get sad when they miss each other (since they are a couple), haha.

Second is the airport scene (as usual sad ito), grabe ang iyakan nila…tapos yung pag-enter pa nung song just as when KJE turned her back on him, waaaaahhh galeng ng timing.

And lastly, which I think will be a common fave among LIP fans is when PSY sang accompanied with piano-playing…haaayyy la lang…dreamy…
