Title: Goong (Palace/Princess Hours)
Yoon Eun Hye as Shin Chae Gyung (YEH)
Joo Ji Hoon as Lee Shin (JJH)
Kim Jung Hoon as Lee Yul (KJH)
Song Ji Hyo as Min Hyo Rin (SJH)

Synopsis: (from soompi.com)
It's a different Korea, where a royal family rules and a beautiful palace sits in the heart of modern-day Seoul. It's where a normal girl and a celebrated prince will discover their fate, tying them together for as long as their love-hate relationship will allow. Chae Gyung, art student one day, crown princess the next, must find a way to survive the extravagance of palace life while falling faster and faster in love with her husband, the lonely and reluctant prince. Once upon a time, there was far from enough warmth between them to build the fairy tale relationship, but in this modern Cinderella story, scandals, love triangles, and royal jealousy can all fit in the shoe.

How I Came to Watch the Series: Ica again!!! Able to watch it thankfully before the local version came up.

What I Like About the Series: Colorful settings…love the fact that she’s an ordinary girl tapos engaged to someone that she doesn’t like, at prince pa! This is very refreshing for me who watched a lot of dramas mostly with grown-up leads during that time. Although kinda Cinderella din pero I love the love-hate relationship that is evident from the start. OST as usual maganda siya. Of course the fave is Perhaps Love by Howl and J. Kinda pissed na may Tagalized version, although in fairness ka-boses ni Christian Bautista si Howl, haha. Pero ayoko pa rin na Tagalog.

YEH was also a good Chae Gyung, she managed to get wacky w/o going overboard (w/c could be a tendency w/ the character she’s playing). Lots of funny scenes regarding the tension between YEH and JJH (esp when they were “forced” to make an heir! Wahahah). JJH was also a fitting prince, as in misunderstood talaga, huhu. The main cast did very well despite the fact that they were just new actors.

What I Don’t Like About It: The fact that I only like the YEH-JJH parts, hahahaha. Kinda got bored w/ the grown-up scenes, although it shows a glimpse of political life.

Favorite Moment: The beach scene! Ayan, hindi na depressing yan. With Perhaps Love playing in the background, sobrang nice nung whole segment of them frolicking in the beach hehehe (although kinda weird nung mga dried squid (?) sa gilid). Especially the part inside the car (directly after the beach) when they held hands *sigh*
