Macau-HK Trip: When the 'Sorry Sorry' Madness Began - Hong Kong Leg

From Macau, we took a boat ride to Hong Kong. I chose the farther port to land in relative to our hostel since it's nearer the MTR station (gotta love their efficient MTR). We went straight to the hostel in Mongkok where I also stayed the year before. It was a strategic place, given that my companions are notorious shoppers. Just remembered plopping into that bed that night, since we just arrived from Macau and we want to have an early start the day after.

Weirdly enough, we ate at a nearby McDo for breakfast. Though I'm much into getting "localized" for the trip, there's still a novelty in eating in a fast food place since there is still a difference. We went to Wong Tai Sin temple, since we all agreed to visit at least one temple in the trip, and it's the most accessible via MTR. Given that we had so much fun when we were visiting different temples in Kota Kinabalu, I knew we were also going to have fun here. I'm not sure if we were allowed to burn incense since we're of different religion, but we didn't dare try since we might do something wrong in the process hehe. The picturesque garden behind the temple is also a welcoming sight given that it's right in the middle of the metropolis.

From the temple, we went straight to Causeway Bay to grab lunch and do some shopping. Landed again in Times Square just like the year before and went through the different side streets to spot anything that we can buy. True to form, my two companions bought clothes almost immediately, LOL. I spotted a Kiki Ippatsu toy and didn't buy it (ugh I should have bought that toy! This is what I get from hanging too close to my money). After which, we all were tired from the heat (damn you weather!) that we decided to split up. Daene went back to Mongkok to rest and do her own sightseeing while Eds and I went to Central to squeeze in more shopping before we collapse. Eds and I were both proud to have landed in Central and just depended on her friend's directions on where to spot the bargain stores. Suffice to say, Eds had a shopping spree.

When we went back to Mongkok, I took a nap. That's a MILESTONE for me to take a nap in the middle of a trip, I always felt that I should do something more productive (other than taking a break? hehe) to make the trip more worthwhile. But hey, sleeping and eating the leftover egg tarts we bought from Macau gave me energy. I almost dragged my feet outside to have dinner and continue the shopping around Mongkok. I'm so glad that my two friends are expert bargainers. The 'walking away' move always works, with the vendors relenting to our price in the end. We slept early again since we cannot move our feet anymore.

The next day, we went to Disneyland, where I got to relish more time in the place as opposed to the frantic pace I did the last time I went there. As expected, my gung-ho companions forced me to ride Space Mountain (I really hate rollercoasters, or any ride akin to that) AND THOSE HELLISH TEACUPS!!! Kill me now, I'll never let Eds take the wheel on those teacups ever again! Forget the fact that I have motion sickness, the whole experience was pure hell for me and pure glee for them. We're the only teacup who is turning at warped speed (I'm exaggerating but it sure felt like it) and to different directions...and we look like lunatics since we're the only ones screaming (me screaming at Eds, them just plain screaming out of happiness) in that ride.
That's me praying to God

We also got to have a picture with four Disney princesses that morning in just less than 10 minutes. We came across Sleeping Beauty and Belle while they are walking towards their designated post (so we were their first customers HAHAHA! I still remember us running towards them and waving our hands to catch their attention) and not too far from them is the post for Snow White and Cinderella. Since I got to have a picture with Mulan the previous year, I have completed my roster. Also got to have a picture with Winnie the Pooh, who eluded me when I went there before.

Dear makers of Disneyland, why oh why don't you have a Prince Charming in your castle huh? I thought this is the place where all dreams come true?!?! Are you afraid that we'll judge him? BWAHAHAHAHA

From Disneyland, we went straight to the port to go back to Macau. Then used the free bus via Venetian (well hello again Venetian!) and landed in the airport, where we took our customary BBF pics once again. The flight was close to midnight, and it was comforting to cap off the trip by spending it on a bowl of noodles at an almost empty airport with your two close friends and talk just about anything we can think about.

So for the reason behind the title, Eds (regrettably?) developed this habit of singing Sorry Sorry by Super Junior whenever she says "sorry" to us during the trip. And being the other Kpop fan in the group, I thought that was enough. Apparently, Daene caught on the bug and simply put, we've created a monster.
