merry christmas!!!

It’s already Dec. 26 (didn’t realize that I won’t have an internet connection in the province) but I guess it’s not too late to greet everyone a Merry Christmas! I’m now back in Manila coming off from a four-day vacation in Sagasa, Bago City where my mom’s side of the family is based. My family is still in Sagasa enjoying the rest of the Christmas break while I’m back at home alone since I have to go to work *sigh*

The vacation was jampacked since it has been more than a year since I last arrived. Furthermore, we decided to drop by Iloilo for some sightseeing. We went to Pototan (still can’t manage to say the name with a straight face) which is the Christmas capital of Visayas. I was wondering how special the place was to merit such title, and I immediately saw the reason why the moment I arrived. The lights are everywhere, and since there are no tall structures around, the bare night sky totally complements the bright lights adorning the trees and buildings.

Here are some quick pictures I took, too bad they don’t do the place justice :)

Also inserting a random picture of my empty plate after I chowed down my inasal like there’s no tomorrow. Because how can you be in Bacolod and Iloilo WITHOUT eating as if it’s the end of the world? I think I gained around 10 pounds in just four days (the fact that I can’t remember how many times I ate lechon is already an indicator). It's always Christmas for my stomach whenever I eat perfectly-cooked inasal.

Anyway, I digress, so here’s the plate, with the most amazing food invention in my book: CHICKEN OIL!
