I seldom go on trips to the Northern provinces so I
decided to drag my mom and sister during my birthday weekend last June to go to
Ilocos. I lost track on how many pizzas I ate during my trip, although my
favourite was the bagnet pizza
over at Cafe Leona in Vigan that my officemate recommended.
From going through the streets of Vigan (and the famous Calle Crisologo) to enjoying the churches and beaches of Laoag, Ilocos really has a lot to offer.
I think my favourite section of
the trip was going to the Paoay sand dunes. I can’t believe that we have this in
the country! I was the only one who went sandboarding, so just imagine how
tired I was going up the hill just to do another round the moment I arrive.
Here’s a clip of my successful round (I’m just happy that I get to deal with
sand so each fall doesn’t hurt). The end of the clip is a facepalm moment (I
guess I’m just crazy happy that I did it that my logic deserted me afterwards).
